Description

The Project Human Development in Focus is a research project that will generate two documentaries about:

  • Microfinance: what is it, how it works and what are the main innovations in the sector
  • What promotes human development from clients of microfinance institutions’ point of view.

The proposal of one documentary is to give voice and visibility to clients from microcredit institutions, credit agents and other interviewed citizens so that they may express their reflections over human development; and we then wish their ideas and conclusions influence both their own society and other diverse contexts. We intend to think over the human development and how the philosophy, methodology and strategy of microcredit institutions relate in order to pluck up efforts to a change in direction of a new developmental paradigm. We will inquire over what social, economical, political and spiritual values contribute to this change. How could these elements be brought into actions and strategies which, put together, would promote human development and a change in paradigm?

Goals

  • To contribute to a better understanding, by the side of investors and public policy makers, of key issues involving the implementation of microfinance institutions.

  • To disseminate knowledge about good practices and innovations in the microfinance sector.

  • To promote reflection over strategies and methodologies which contribute to the human development and the practical possibility to implement them.

  • To add up to the increase the perception of the public in general about the factors which promote human development and the reduction of its privations.

  • To further a change of values and personal attitudes, which would give room to a new posture considering of the role that each as a change agent.
